Poetry

In the Jura

by Prasada Caroline Brazier

Duck and reflection
On a river green mirror
Silent, drift down stream
Only fish jumping skyward
Break the illusion apart

Wooded valley slopes.
Colonaded limestone cliffs
Support a grey sky
Interlocking headlands nurse
The river, winding its course

A-mid the pine trees
With lawns down to the water
A boarded wooden hut.
Oh to stay, a hermit, here
Beside the mirrored water
